CENTRAL VIRGINIA GOLD PROSPECTORS Report on August 18 , 2007 Meeting UPCOMING MEETING: The next meeting will be on September 8th at the Lovin Gold Prospecting Supplies store, 1082 Main Street (Route 15) in downtown Dillwyn. September 8, 2007 at 10 AM. Bring a lawn chair. There is a BIG sign at the store so be alert. Ben opened meeting and welcomed everyone. There were approximagtely 70 members and guests present. Bob gave the Treasurer's Report—Sandy read report from July meeting. OLD BUSINESS: Raffle tickets sales are going well but your help is still needed. Work on selling tickets and turn them back in by the September meeting. This is our biggest fund raiser of the year. The person who sells (or buys) the most tickets will win a Ό ounce nugget. The September meeting will be on the SECOND SATURDAY the 8th. That afternoon we will be participating in the Goldvein Jubilee event at Goldvein, Virginia. On Saturday August the 11th, we participated in the event at Buckingham Agriculture and Industry Day. September 8 – Goldvdein Jubilee from 3 PM until 7 PM. September 21, 22 and 23 – Field Days of the Past. Volunteers are needed. Contact Ben if you can help. September 29th Warrenton-Fauqauir Heritage Days . October 6 – 10 AM-4 PM Fluvanna County Farm Days. Volunteers are needed. Contact Ben if you can help. Set-up will be on the 5th October 7th – 3 PM until approximately 4 PM. There will be a panning demonstration at Tabscot Mount Gillard Church. More information on this event will be provided later. October 13th – Beaver Dam Days - More information on this event will be provided later. October 27 and 28 - Gold Show at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Volunteers will be needed to help work the tables on the 27th and 28th in several hour shifts. The times for the show Saturday 10 AM – 5 PM and 10 AM – 4 PM Sunday. We need for you to let us know in advance if you can help at this event so we can arrange free admission for you. We need help at all these events so if you can assist, please let us know. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Sam, who is our Claims Director, commented that someone is digging holes in the banks and this is definitely NOT PERMISSIBLE. This can get your membership pulled if you are caught doing this !! Again: BBQ grill fires only, no holes left unfilled, no digging in the banks. NEW BUSINESS: Lynn Shaw and Kathy Lovin are taking over the responsibility for the club "history record book". CVGP will be doing a toy collection for needy children for Christmas. Ben has a donation box for new toys at the store and all contributions will be appreciated. Some core samples from Booker Mine were donated to the club.
